Halloween Treats, no Tricks

Happy Halloween! My first time celebrating Halloween as a city-dweller was a success! My house was by far the most festive on the block (not that its a competition or anything, but I most definitely won), my treats were a hit, and I was able to enjoy a fun evening watching my favorite Halloween movie.

Throughout the night I had 39 trick or treaters. I gave away all of my monster treats AND a whole bag of Snickers (I was quite generous with my candy distribution).

As I patiently waited for knocks on my door, I played Hocus Pocus on my underutilized TV. Do you have a favorite Halloween movie?

Hocus Pocus is my favorite, but Halloweentown is a close second.

Earlier in the week, my sister and I celebrated the spooky season by seeing the Brainerd Community Theater’s production of Dracula (pronounced dra*cool*a).

It was an… interesting… production. We were surprised (though probably shouldn’t have been) by the amount of neck biting that occurred on stage. We also realized we knew very little about the story of Dracula. Have you ever read the original story? I think I’m too creeped out to do it now.

And there you have my charms from Halloween week; a festive house, yummy treats, a favorite movie, and a spooky theater show. What charms did you find this past week? Let me know in the comments below!
