Spooky Easy Halloween Treats

Looking for a spookily easy Halloween treat recipe? Well you’ve found it!

Halloween treats in trick or treat bag

These adorable little monster Rice Krispies balls are easy to make and fun to eat.

Warning: they will turn your mouth green upon eating, which can sometimes be fun, so eat at your own risk.

Tips:

I used a mini muffin tin to ensure the balls were a fairly uniform size. This isn’t necessary, but it sure is useful.

Monster Treats with eyes

I found these candy eyes in the cake decorating section of Walmart. You should be able to find something similar near the icing and food coloring at whatever store you shop at.

Halloween treat bags

I packaged my monsters up into these little treat bags that I found at Dollar General. This made them very easy to hand out to Trick or Treaters.

Spooky Easy Monster Rice Krispies Treats

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 bag mini marshmallows
  • 3/4 box Rice Krispies
  • a few drops green food dye
  • candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in large saucepan

  2. Add marshmallows to saucepan and stir continually until smooth and runny

  3. Remove from heat and add green food dye to mixture. Stir until color is incorporated.

  4. Pour Rice Krispies into a large bowl. Pour green marshmallow mixture on top and mix until cereal is coated

  5. Give the mixture a few minutes to get sticky, this will make the ball making process easier.

  6. Form the mixture into small balls and allow to set on a nonstick surface (baking sheet coated with nonstick spray or wax paper). I used a mini muffin tin to create a uniform size to the treats.

  7. While the treats are still fairly sticky, add candy eyes to the balls. The marshmallow should keep the eyes on without needing any other glue.

  8. Give them 30ish minutes to set, and you’re good to go!

And there you have an easy treat recipe to make for the Halloween season.
Whipping up adorably festive treats is a little charm of my life. These were so fun to hand out to kids in the neighborhood, but I bet they would also look super adorable on a platter for a Halloween party!
